Branding rights

2 min read

Branding rights depend on the DotwebApps product and license you purchased. Where permitted, you may customize selected customer-facing brand elements for the uses allowed by that license.

Branding that may be permitted #

Depending on the product, permitted branding changes may include elements such as:

  • logo
  • product or business name, where permitted
  • colors
  • selected visual identity elements
  • other customer-facing branding supported by the product

The exact editable areas vary by product. Do not assume that every interface element, file, or third-party component can be modified.

Branding rights by standard license tier #

The standard license tiers provide different scopes of permitted use:

  • Single Site Personal / Business may allow branding and customization for the purchaser’s own permitted use where the product allows it.
  • Multi-Site Commercial may allow branding for permitted own projects and eligible client deployments where allowed by the applicable product license.
  • Non-Transferable Resell Rights + White-Label provides the broadest standard branding and resale permissions, subject to the applicable product and license restrictions.

Branding does not transfer ownership #

Applying your own logo, name, colors, or other permitted visual identity does not transfer ownership of the underlying DotwebApps intellectual property.

Third-party components included in a product may remain subject to their own licenses and restrictions. Legally required notices, where applicable, must not be removed or altered contrary to those requirements.

Branding does not change activation or reseller rights #

Branding changes do not increase the production activation limit of the purchased license.

Branding also does not create reseller rights by itself. A license holder may resell the software only when the purchased license includes the applicable reseller rights.

For example, a Single Site or Multi-Site Commercial license should not be treated as a reseller license simply because it permits some branding or customization.

Follow product-specific permissions #

The available branding options and restrictions can differ between DotwebApps products. Follow the applicable product documentation and license terms rather than assuming a universal branding process, exact editable files, or unrestricted trademark and attribution rights.
