Activation limits
2 min read
An activation limit controls how many permitted production installations may be active under the applicable DotwebApps software license.
DotwebApps standard license tiers use finite production activation limits. A higher-tier license provides a larger permitted activation allocation, but it does not mean unlimited activations.
Current standard production activation limits #
- Single Site Personal / Business: 1 production activation
- Multi-Site Commercial: 5 production activations
- Non-Transferable Resell Rights + White-Label: 25 production activations
The actual rights and limits of the license purchased for a specific product always control.
What counts against the activation limit #
Production activations are the installations that count against the finite activation allocation for the purchased license tier.
If a production installation is retired, moved, or replaced, deactivating or releasing that installation may free the relevant activation slot where the product supports deactivation.
Local, staging, or test installations may be treated differently where the approved DotwebApps licensing configuration permits it. That behavior can vary by product and environment and should not be assumed to apply to every domain or installation.
Activation limits are not usage limits inside the software #
Unless a particular product separately states otherwise, a production activation limit is not the same thing as a limit on:
- number of users
- number of customer accounts inside the application
- number of transactions
- number of database records
- number of end users
The activation limit concerns licensed production installations. Product-specific operational limits, if any, are separate.
Keep your license information private #
Do not share license keys or other license credentials publicly. License information should be used only with the applicable DotwebApps product and permitted installations.
If you believe your activation allocation is incorrect, first confirm the license tier you purchased and whether any old production installations still need to be deactivated. If the issue remains unresolved, contact DotwebApps support with the relevant product and license information needed to investigate the problem.
